1 | Practice Rigorous Authenticity
My mask is:
I’m hiding a weakness2 | Surrender The Outcome
I can’t control:
-What people think of me when I share knowledge and self truths
-The effects of what others think of me (whether they want to be my friend (personal) or patient (at work).)
I can control:
-The activities and relationships I commit to
-How authentically I present myself
3 | Do Uncomfortable Work
My Daily Reflection:
Did I hide a weakness today?
Ugh. Yes. I'm a chiropractor, two years into practice. I'm also human. That means I make mistakes and I don't know everything. I spin everything I do in the office to be positive, energetic, and wise. My patients rely on me, and I feel the pressure to "show up" and know everything and appear to have more experience than I do. One of my greatest fears is being exposed for the inexperienced doctor I am.
My Mask-Free Action(s):
-I authentically present myself as the imperfect human I am.
-I remember that I have all my years of education plus two very valuable years of in-field experience, and I will continue to gain knowledge as I practice.
-I engage in empowering relationships and activities where I feel good, learn, and grow.
Why this matters to me:
I want to be brave and so lovingly authentic that it inspires everyone I meet to do the same. I want to live my truth as the child of God I am created to be so that others cannot deny His handiwork. I want to attract the resources I have dreamed of to live the life I deserve.
