1 | Practice Rigorous Authenticity
My mask is:
I’m hiding a weakness2 | Surrender The Outcome
I can’t control:
- Being judged for sharing my weakness
- Whether I receive helpful advice from others on how to address my weakness.
- My own feeling of discomfort when sharing a weakness.
I can control:
- Choosing to live honestly & being honest with others.
- Being honest with myself, admitting my weakness, and giving myself the psychological safety to fall short on things as I learn how to do something the right way.
- Eliminating my feeling of imposter syndrome by being transparent when I don't know how to do something.
3 | Do Uncomfortable Work
My Daily Reflection:
- Professionally, I will admit to my coworkers when I don't know how to do something, especially when I'm contributing to a project on which others depend on me.
- I will journal 2-3 times a week on: did I hide a weakness today? What was the impact of doing so?
My Mask-Free Action(s):
- Work with my sponsor in the Mask Free program, my friend with whom I do weekly check-ins, and my coach to address my weaknesses and continue getting support to admit them to others 12 times in 28 days.
Why this matters to me:
I want to live an honest life, and I will never be able to do that if I hide my weakness from others and refuse to acknowledge my weakness to myself.
